Scar Tissue Release Therapy

With the increasing number of surgeries each year, more people suffer from scar tissue.  This can cause chronic pain in other parts of the body, obstruct blood flow, lymphatic flow, prevent muscles from functioning properly above and below the scar!  More physicians are not addressing the scar tissue post op.   When you have an invasive surgery, your body's response is to swell and protect the area and lay down new tissue.  The new tissue is laid out in multiple directions instead of one direction like your muscle fibers.  You also have fascia which connects the skin to the muscles and organs all throughout the body within multiple layers.  That fascia can get stuck and be pulled in one direction causing dysfunction in muscles and tissues above and below the scar.

With the Dolphin Neurostim, we can target the tissues below the skin and change the appearance, pliability and sensibility of the scar within one session!  The Dolphin MPS sends direct low level micro-current (different from E-Stem) between the units which helps break up and soften scar tissue.  You can expect to feel less pain in the area and other parts of your body, see a change in the appearance of the scar and have more freedom of movement in just the first session!  A series of 5-10 treatments is recommended depending on the scar.

Two weeks post op we can use micro-current and cupping massage along with manual lymphatic drainage to help decrease pain, inflammation, sensitivity, soften scar tissue and increase pliability to the scar and surrounding tissues.

Dolphin MPS for Pain

Not only is the Dolphin MPS great for scar tissues but it is also amazing for chronic and acute pain.  I’ll give you an example from my own personal experience.  One of my dogs is a very excited greeter and he loves to jump up to say hello (we’re still working on this).  One day he knocked my jaw out of alignment just enough to irritate my jaw when opening and closing.  My jaw now had a zig zag pattern during opening and closing.  Luckily, I’m trained in two different modalities and I knew exactly what to do!  First, I treated four different acupressure points on my jaw with the Dolphin MPS.  Then, I treated a muscle inside my mouth (lateral pterygoid) and the temporalis muscle.   The next day, my pain was gone and my jaw was back on track and it never came back!

Other clients I’ve treated with the Dolphin MPS for pain.

-Chronic neck and shoulder pain – clients reported immediate relief during treatment and improved range of motion without pain within the next week!

-Hamstring pain – After one session their pain was gone

-Low back pain- Linked to a c-section scar greatly decreased her pain and gained range of motion with just one session!

-Knee pain – Decreased their pain after one session and improved range of motion!

-Jaw pain/Tooth pain related to muscles inside the mouth – decreased pain and improved range of motion with each session!

It is so amazing to see these results and help people get out of pain faster than just a regular massage!   There is a time a place for relaxation but when you’re dealing with chronic pain the faster you get out of pain, the less stress it is on your body and your nervous system!

Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Simulation

Dolphin Vagal Nerve Stimulation (DVNS) for stress/chronic fatigue and relief from Long term COVID-19 Symptoms!

DVNS uses the same micro-current device that stimulates the Vagus nerve by attaching a clip to the auricular branch of the ear and a patch below the belly button.  The Vagus nerve is the 10th cranial nerve stemming from the brain down to the tail bone.  The Vagus nerve is controlled by our autonomic nervous system which subconsciously works to regulate bodily functions such as: Heart rate, digestion and respiratory functions.  When the body is under stress the sympathetic nervous system is activated causing a multitude of issues:

- Higher stress levels

- Increased heart rate

- Increased blood pressure

- Increased oxygen

- Adrenaline in dangerous situations

- Pain, trigger points, tight muscles

- Hypersensitivity

- PTSD/Anxiety

- Mood alteration

- Endocrine dysfunction

- Disease/illness

The Dolphin VNS uses DC current, a low-level electrical stimulation to help reduce pain and improve muscle strength and coordination as well as the following:

  • Immediate relaxation

  • Improved sleep and recovery

  • VNS improves heart rate

  • Improved digestion

  • Improved respiratory function

  • Decreased stress

  • Improve parasympathetic (a group of nerves that help relax your body after a period of stress or danger).

More clients are coming to me with high stress levels and chronic fatigue which takes a toll on anyone.  When your body feels drained and you don’t have a lot of energy, it puts a lot of stress on your nervous system and your quality of life is affected.  This can also mean that your body is holding on to excess amounts of waste and your lymphatic system is in charge of waste removal.  When our bodies are under stress our immune system is compromised.

Scheduling a Session

I highly recommend Manual Lymphatic Drainage and the Dolphin VNS add on.  After one session you will feel more relaxed, and have more restful sleep which means your body can heal faster.  It is not uncommon to feel tired and want to take a nap after this session!

How many sessions will it take to feel my best?

It could take one to three sessions of MLD with DVNS depending on the person.
